Two out of the three remaining members of The Reeders
are qualified Championship Show judges. Kerrie
qualified to judge Staffords at Championship Show level in 1980, adding the rest of the Terrier group to her repertoire in
1990, and the Toy group in 2000. In 2000, Peta qualified to judge the Terrier
group at Championship Show level, adding the Hound group in 2004. At this time, Kim chooses not to
participate in this side of the dog world, much preferring the challenge
and commitment required of a talented dog show handler. Kerrie
has judged Staffords all over the
world, including multiple appointments in New Zealand, South Africa, the
U.K and the National Specialty in the U.S.A. She has judged
Staffords at specialty level on multiple occasions, not only overseas
but also at home for shows including the
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of Queensland's 10th Anniversary
Championship Show and for the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of NSW
Inc. Kerrie also judged Staffords at the British Terrier Club of NSW
Championship Show in May, 2002, and is also now in regular demand as a
skilled Toy group judge. Peta is also in
constant demand, being honoured with judging invitations from some of
Australia's most prestigious dogs clubs, including County of Cumberland
Kennel Club, Belconnen Kennel Club (ACT) and the Royal NSW Canine
Council's Library and Archives Committee for the Australia Day Show. She
judged the Terrier Club Inc, New Zealand in March 2003, and her first
breed specialty for the
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of Queensland Inc in June 2003. Peta is
in demand for terrier breed specialties across Australia, as well as
assignments for the
hound group. The
late Yvonne Reeder also qualified to judge Staffords in 1980, and the
remainder of the Terrier group in 1990. In
Australia alone, Yvonne judged Championship Shows for the
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of NSW Inc, Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Club of South Australia Inc and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of
Western Australia Inc. Overseas, she was honoured to judge Staffords and
American Staffordshire Terriers at the world's biggest Terrier Show,
Montgomery County Kennel Club, in Pennsylvania, USA. She judged for
the Southern Cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier Society and the Canterbury
Bull Terrier Club in New Zealand, and for the prestigious Pretoria
Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Natal Bull Terrier Clubs in South
Africa. Yvonne was in constant demand all over Australia as a
knowledgeable and experienced Terrier judge, and her expertise will be
sadly missed by the Stafford and Terrier communities worldwide.
